A Day In the Life of a Volunteer
"It was very meaningful to me, because I was able to see the impact of the long-standing programs on individuals in the community."
- Curt Adams, Volunteer
"I came to Fork and Spoon a little over a year ago with a simple goal in mind...I wanted to contribute to my community. Fork and Spoon seemed like a great place to start. It turns out that positively impacting one’s community is a two way street. Volunteers and staff alike are improving the lives of people in our community, and in the process, enriching their own. It’s been a pleasure to learn this valuable lesson alongside the folks at Fork and Spoon."
- Chris Driscoll, Volunteer
I’ve been volunteering at the Fork & Spoon for nearly three years, and I always look forward to the time I spend there. The staff and other volunteers are welcoming and respectful, the kitchen is always full of activity, (and laughter and bad jokes!) and everyone works together to do what needs to be done to prepare great food for our community.
- Mari DeManty, Volunteer
Serving at Fork & Spoon is something I look forward to each week with great joy. On days I come from my 8-5 job I am energized every time. I may be dragging when I leave work, but by the time I walk in I am excited to be here. Being able to serve along side other volunteers and give a smile or share some joy to the many who eat here comes abundantly back to me. I am blessed every time!
- Jennifer Treff, Volunteer
Volunteering at Fork & Spoon has an enormous impact on the community, and it's easy to do. Sign up, show up and we will walk you through the steps when you get here.
A staff member will greet you when you arrive and provide an overview and training for your specific volunteer role. Whether you are helping us dish wash, serve dinner, or set up for a catering event, you will always be working with Fork & Spoon staff who will help guide you during your time volunteering.
