There isn’t really much scientific evidence regarding how long we should let rice sit in our rice cooker. However, based on my own experience, I would say that it’s perfectly fine to leave rice in the rice cooker until it gets mushy or sticky rice.
The only thing you need to watch out for is when the rice starts smelling bad. When that happens, just toss it out.
