The problem is that sometimes, the system malfunctions and doesn’t shut down properly.
This issue has become quite common lately, especially with older models.
Fortunately, it’s very simple to fix.
All you need to do is remove the ice tray from the freezer compartment and then plug the power cord back into the wall socket
Why Did My Samsung Freezer Stop Freezing?
Samsung freezers are designed to freeze food safely and efficiently. However, if the freezer stops working properly, you may experience issues such as ice buildup, frozen food not freezing, or the freezer door opening and closing repeatedly. This could indicate that the freezer needs repair. To fix the problem, follow these steps: 1. Check the power cord. Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a good outlet. If the power cord is loose or damaged, contact a professional technician to replace it. 2. Check the freezer’s thermostat. If the thermostat is malfunctioning, the freezer won’t cool down. This will prevent the coils from cooling down and the compressor motor will stop working. Clean the coils using a vacuum cleaner. 2. Low Freon Levels Answer: If freon levels are low, the compressor will not run. This will lead to the freezer not being able to cool down. The compressor will continue running until the freon level reaches normal levels. Once the compressor runs continuously, it will damage the compressor motor. Contact a professional technician to repair the compressor.
2. Frozen Evaporator Coils
Frozen evaporator coils will block the flow of refrigerant gas. This will reduce the efficiency of the refrigerator. To fix this problem, turn off the power supply to the refrigerator and wait for 30 minutes. Then, remove the ice tray and clean the coils with warm water. After cleaning, replace the ice tray and turn on the power supply. 3. Overheating Compressor Motor Answer: Overheating of the compressor motor will cause the compressor to shut down. Turn off the power supply to your refrigerator and wait for 15 minutes. Remove the ice tray and clean it with warm water. Replace the ice tray and turn the power supply back on.
3. Malfunctioning Evaporator Fan
Turn off the power supply to check if the fan is working properly. If not, replace the fan. 4. Refrigeration System Leakage Answer: If you smell sour odors coming from the freezer compartment, open the door and check whether any liquid leaks from the system. If yes, clean the area around the leak using a wet cloth.

Check the relay contacts to see if they are making good contact. If no contact is being made, replace the relay. 5. Overheating Answer: Remove the thermostat from the unit and turn off the power switch. Check if the thermostat is damaged. If yes, replace the thermostat.
