This question has been asked for years but no definitive answer exists.
Pasta is a staple food in Italy and other parts of Europe.
In fact, Italians eat more pasta than rice!
It’s also a very versatile ingredient that can be used in countless ways.
I’m going to share my personal experience cooking pasta and give you some guidelines on how much pasta you should cook per person.
How To Portion Pasta According To The Package
Pasta comes in many different shapes and sizes, but if you know how to portion pasta according to the package, you’ll always get the right amount for each person. Here’s what you need to know about portioning pasta. 1. Measure the length of the pasta. This is usually measured from the tip of the box to the end of the noodle. For example, if you’re using spaghetti, measure from the top of the box to the bottom of the spaghetti. Don’t forget to count the noodles! 2. Add 1/3 cup of uncooked pasta for every 4 cups of water. So if you’re making 12 servings of pasta, you’d need 3 boxes 12 cups of pasta.
